Have you ever made a resolution and then stopped working towards it half way through January? WHY?!?! Why did you give up? Why did you quit? Are you scared? Did you set yourself up for failure? Did you give up before you even started?
Let’s change that this year. Let’s more forward with our resolutions without giving up because of failure to prepare.
First, what is your resolution? What is your goal? For example, “I want to be healthier”. Now let’s break it down.
Step 1: I am going to get 7-8 hours of sleep per night. I will go bed at 10pm and get up at 6:30am. (Getting adequate amounts of sleep is SO IMPORTANT and the first step to changing many things in our lives.)
Step 2: I am going to meal prep every Sunday for the week or whatever day works for you. Put it on your calendar. Make it a date and don’t miss it. It only takes me 2-3 hours to grocery shop and prep for the week. Plus it makes the week so much easier. There’s no guessing what I’m eating for breakfast, lunch or dinner. When you’re craving an afternoon snack, you have healthy choices waiting for you. Or when you come home at night and don’t want to think about cooking, it’s already prepped.
Step 3: I am going to move my body for 10 minutes 5 days a week. 10 minutes that’s it! After 10 minutes, if you’re feeling good, continue with moving your body. Maybe 10 minutes was all you could give it today or your body was really sore. Stop and pick back up again tomorrow. You can’t run a marathon if you’ve never run a mile. So we’re starting with 1 mile to begin! Start small. Enjoy the process.
